The Bucks County Workforce Investment Board, Inc., is charged with the strategic planning and satisfaction of workforce development in Bucks County.

There are two Strategic Plans required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Labor and Industry; these plans address the two theories inherent in workforce development: Human Capital Development (HCD) and Labor Force Attachment (LFA).

The BC-WIB is responsible for both paradigms of workforce development – both addressing the imminent needs of employers needing workers and job seekers needing jobs as well as the long-term economic viability of our local businesses and industries to retain their incumbent workforce.

The BC-WIB provides the strategic oversight for the PA CareerLink Bucks County One Stop to address the LFA model. The PA CareerLink Bucks County offers free services to local job seekers and employers.  The Bucks County One Stop Plan details how the PA CareerLink Operating Partners address the LFA needs of workforce development in Bucks County.

The BC-WIB’s Planning Committee authors and updates the Title I Local Plan (PDF) which addresses the HCD needs of the local industries that are ensuring Bucks County’s economic viability and sustainability.
